I have been part of the Wearable Computer Laboratory since 2003, I started by working on my honours project "Mobile Hand Tracking Using FPGAs for Low Powered Augmented Reality".
Since my honours project I have worked on many different projects. The Wearable Computer Lab has a strong prototyping capability with local access to a well equipped workshop with CNC capabilities. I often work with the design and construction of prototype systems. This work includes mechanical/electrical design and constructions.
My PhD research is focused on input design technologies, user interfaces and output hardware devices. One of the large contributions I have made is the design and development of Digital Foam. This is a new input device designed to support multi fingered operations and is being used to support sculpting like operations. Currently I plan on finishing my thesis at the beginning of 2009.
