About: Dr Ben Avery completed his PhD degree in 2009 at the University of South Australia in the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences. His doctorate conducted in the Wearable Computer Laboratory explored the use of X-Ray Vision methods for Augmented Reality. After completion Ben moved to the United States for a job at Silicon Valley startup, Conviva, in the San Francisco Bay Area applying his degree knowledge specializing in video streaming analytics. At Conviva he developed a scalable system that collected data from millions of simultaneous live video streams around the world. In 2011 he was appointed at a prestigious position at Google’s Mountain View headquarters. He now continues his work building APIs for the Google’s AdWords system allowing clients to manage ad data.
